Business Development Manager, Europe

Position Overview: We’re looking for a Manager to support Sparkion’s commercial growth throughout Europe and help shape the future of the company. Reporting to the Director of Business Development, you’ll work directly with clients, both SMB and Fortune 500, to custom shape solutions to their local business’s needs. You’ll also be in a unique position to provide a feedback loop to Sparkion’s engineering team to continuously enhance our product offering based on customer needs. This consultative style role will focus on all phases of the sales life cycle and be responsible for directly driving revenue in the Nordics, DACH and the UK.


  • Identify and secure new sales partners and channels to support scaling revenue growth
  • Relationship management with existing key partners by providing product and industry updates, gaining valuable feedback from the market, and interfacing directly with end use customers
  • Develop and review financial models and work with customers or potential site hosts to articulate the business case and/or positive impact of installing battery energy storage and energy management at a site
  • Provide product training and onboarding for new partners and customers where necessary
  • Manage and nurture a sales pipeline and provide weekly reporting to operational stakeholders to support supply chain planning
  • Provide market feedback to the Product and Engineering teams to support future product development
  • Liaise with ecosystem partners to facilitate overall industry growth and encourage thought leadership within the space

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of work experience with at least 3 years in a customer facing sales related role
  • Sales experience in climate technology (solar, EVSE, energy storage), infrastructure development or software a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree required (business or engineering a plus)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically in Excel)
  • Willingness to travel

  • Leading the development of the company’s core products.
  • Ownership of a project\product from end to end, from concept and simulation, through development, integration, certification and field deployment.
  • Working with other teams such as: Mechanical, SW and Embedded.


  • BSc in electrical engineering- Must
  • At least 5 years of experience in power electronics- Must
  • Proven record of leading power electronics design, from conceptual stage to product level.
  • Experience with advanced topologies of energy conversions.
  • Experience with hardware CAD design and simulation tools such as: Psim, PSpice, LTspice, or other equivalent.
  • Experience with safety standard and design regulations considerations.
  • Hands on experience with PCB bring-up and operating electrical laboratory equipment.
  • Knowledge in the field of battery management systems.
  • Basic knowledge in the field of embedded microprocessors.
  • Knowledge in communication protocols CANBUS, UART, SPI.
  • Ability to work and learn independently as well as collaborate in teamwork.
  • High level of English.

Senior Technical Solution Expert, Europe

General description:

Sparkion is looking for an experienced Senior Technical Solution Expert with strong technical expertise and presentation skills to join our team and to help drive our growth in Europe.

The candidate will be responsible for supporting sales processes as well as initial customer rollouts and POC’s; Responsibilities shall include the following: perform initial needs assessment, execute business and technical analysis, assess technical readiness for solution, perform solution demos, evaluate integration and implementation plans, respond to RFI’s and RFP’s and support the preparation of price proposals. The Senior Solution Expert shall report to the VP of Product at Sparkion.

Summary of Key Responsibilities
  • Help support customer implementations, particularly POC’s and initial roll outs, including all technically-related aspects
  • Work closely with the projects team and sales team in meeting clients, attending exhibitions and trade shows to walk through the Sparkion solution suite
  • Responsible for the writing and organization of technical documentation for sales processes
  • Cooperate with the product development center to provide market feedback on productization.
  • Analyze customer business requirements and define future needs based Sparkion best practices
Skills Requirement:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in electrical engineering/ renewables/ power systems, or similar.
  • Minimum 4 years of working experience in the field of energy storage, EV charging, energy markets, renewable energy, utilities market or similar.
  • Fluent in English to liaise with clients, colleagues in different countries. Other languages- a plus.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Have a strong sense of cooperation, sense of responsibility, and the ability to solve problems independently.
  • Willing to travel
